FUE hair transplant: how the method works
FUE stands for follicular unit extraction. Grafts are collected one at a time and placed where your hair has thinned.

The four stages of FUE
From planning to the months of growth afterwards.
Planning
Area, hairline and growth direction are marked.
Extraction
Grafts removed one by one, under local anaesthetic.
Implantation
Placed by angle and direction, with sapphire blades or a Choi implanter.
Healing and growth
Hairs shed, then new growth comes over months.
What is a graft?
A graft is a natural group of one to a few hairs. Single hairs soften the front edge.
A person estimates how many you need from your photos.
Take a closer look
hairs grow together in each graft. The magnifier shows the skin from above. Pick a number.
The donor area
Usually the back and sides, where hair resists typical hair loss. Grafts are spread out, leaving small marks.
Donor hair is limited, so goals stay realistic.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between FUE and strip surgery?
FUE removes grafts one by one. Strip surgery removes a band of scalp. We use FUE.
Does FUE leave scars?
Small dots heal into small marks. Visibility depends on skin, hair length and graft count.
Do I need to shave my head for FUE?
Not always. Part of the donor area is often shaved, and we tell you in advance.
When will I see results after FUE?
Growth is gradual. We follow your progress and explain each stage.
Could FUE suit your hair loss?
Send photos through the free hair analysis and we will tell you if FUE is an option.
